Overview
20+ years of experience in various industries covering engineering design, project management, support as well as front end technical sales and business development across five continents.
His startup experience includes Redwood Systems, an intelligent IOT, low voltage LED solution deployed globally for Fortune 200 companies. Before that he was an application and site deployment engineer for Bloomenergy, a cutting-edge Solid Oxide Hydrogen Fuel Cell Company in Silicon Valley. His responsibility included site design and construction as well as utility interconnection.
Business Leadership
Morné is a hands-on leader of engineering and deployment teams in telecoms and other high-tech industries. His exceptional people skills led him to Business Development for CommScope Connectivity Solutions, a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications networks. He also held senior roles in Technical Sales and Market Segment Strategy.
Innovation
He worked with prospective clients to formulate innovative connectivity solutions for Smart Cities and adjacent IOT markets. He is also the author of two patents on power over ethernet data lines and smart pole IOT connectivity. He is a global speaker and writer on wired and wireless technology, including IOT connectivity.
International experience
Worked as engineer in South Africa and Europe before moving to California. He was recruited by CommScope to expand the APAC market and relocated to Singapore to drive growth in that market.
Education
Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, South Africa.
